Background clearance and fingerprinting

All students admitted into the undergraduate teacher preparation, Master in Teaching (M.I.T.) and add-on endorsement programs must receive background clearance.

Clearance requires completion of the Pre-Residency Clearance (for certification programs), fingerprinting and proof of liability insurance. For the Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master in Teaching programs, contact Jennifer Gallagher at j.gallagher@wsu.edu for the appropriate forms, instructions and add-on endorsement programs.

Fingerprinting

Fingerprint clearance can be obtained from an educational service district or a police department. If you have your prints taken at your local law enforcement office you will need to bring a prepared fingerprint card with you. To request a card contact Student Services.
