Master of Education Program Requirements

The Master of Education requires a minimum of 34 total credits of coursework in the following sections of the program:

Introduction to the Program (1 credit)

  • T&L 565 Introduction to Scholarly Inquiry (1 credit)

Foundational Core (6 credits)

  • EdAd 507 Social Foundations of Education (3 credits)
  • EdPsy 502 Theoretical Foundations of Learning & Instruction (3 credits)

Program Specialization Options (minimum total of 21 credits):

  • English Language Learners (ELL)
  • Literacy Education
  • Special Education (SpEd)
  • Curriculum and Instruction (may use Middle-level Math or ProTeach Professional Certification in this concentration)

Research (6 credits to be taken in order)

  • EdPsy 505 Research Methods (3 credits)
  • T&L 702 Final Independent Research Project (3 credits)
